Steve has volunteered his time and construction know-how to the Boy Scouts of America specifically Pack 41 Abington Cub Scouts and Troop 41 Abington Boy Scouts.
In 2008 Steve volunteered his time and tools to build new entry stairs at the Cub Scout House.
More recently, and with the help of Mark A. who engineered the plans for this project, Steve oversaw the construction of the lighthouse for the Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree held July 26 - Aug 4, 2010 in Ft. A. P. Hill Virginia.
Approximately 40 Boy Scouts from local Troops in the Massachusetts South Shore area will be attending the Jamboree. The combined Massachusetts Troops make up Troop 530. Each Troop has a Gateway for their campsite. Troop 530 chose to have a lighthouse similar to the one that is shown above and worn on the Scout's uniform.
